Review: first of all l would like to say a big thank you to L.F Falconer for sending me her books and giving me a chance to read this story. I was sent this book in exchange for a honest review. I am glad this book is on my bookshelf  l would tell people that you should step outside your comfort zone with books because it is good to add more authors and genres to your reading portfolio even if you do not read books like this l normally do not read books of this genre but l stepped outside my comfort zone with authors and genres l am so glad l did because l have read so many get books . I highly recommend this book the author is really nice and kind. l would love to read more from this author. I was sent this book by bostick communications who l want to say thank you to as well. I really enjoyed reading this book l found this book easy to get in to. I was sad to read that jink's body was taken over by a witch and he was raped by the man who was suppose to look after him. He was sold to this man by a woman who was looking after him. Jink's mother was a whore. Kael and Fane was brother's their mother had passed away she liked jink and thought just because his mother was a whore he did not deserve to be treated bad. Kael and Fane's father did not like jink. Fane was learning magic with a wizard Fith. Fane went looking for ragg's gold with jink. Jink died saving his best friend Fane's life. Ragg made himself look like jink to get the crystal off Fane so he could kill Fane. The witch who took over jink's body was called Larque. Fane ended up eating trolls to stop him from dying. Fane meet a troll named Hhaak and she took what she wanted from Fane and she got pregnant by Fane. Kael found his brother he told Kael that jink died saving his life and that jink died a warrior and Hhaak is my mate and she is pregnant with my child l can not leave this cave because if l do he will kill everybody in avar. Fane asked Kael to look after Hhaak and his child. This crystal stops Ragg touching me but l want you to take it do not let Ragg get his hands on it. Kael told Fane that their father will understand the honor of his death. he wanted jink to have the same honor in death. Hhaak went in to labour so Kael founds a midwife who did not tell anybody of the births she attended. Hhaak had a baby girl but sadly she died in childbirth the baby was crying to be fed the midwife let the baby suck on her finger to keep her quiet. The little girl looked like a normal baby apart from her pointed ears. the midwife told Kael to go find a girl named Alyn who give birth two days ago to a little girl who was stillborn. He found Alyn . Alyn was in debt to this man for letting her and her two siblings after their parents passed away live there. Alyn's brother and sister passed away. The man she worked for paid for their funerals so she was in more debt with him so he made her sleep with men for money. Kael paid off her debt of two crowns. Alyn agreed to be a wet nurse for Kael's niece he let Alyn choose her name. She named the baby Elva the name she was going to name her daughter who sadly passed away. He took Alyn and Elva to their home and told their father that Fane had married Alyn before he went to find Ragg's gold and left her pregnant with Elva. Kael went to war and nearly died but he survived he had fallen in love with Alyn and they got married with the blessing of their father. Dian said he was happy to take Alyn as his daughter in law again. Elva called Kael papa and Dian grandpapa. A year after their got married Alyn give birth to their son they named him Lundin the following year their had a daughter Sashi. After the birth of their third child the following autumn, tragedy stuck their third born was another son named Devon when Devon was one month old he passed away in his sleep. Kael buried the baby behind their house Devon was not ill. Kael found out his father had passed away Kael got his father's coronet handed to him he would wear it from now on. Ragg found out Kael had the crystal from one of the guys that helped after he was stabbed when he was at war. Ragg ate Fane's friend Fith but the poor wizard died before he hit the floor. Ragg treated Kael's wife and children and his niece. Alyn found Elva missing the next morning but their house was still locked up. Ragg changed in to a mouse so he could get in to the house he give Elva to Blugort  and then went back in to put the bar back down so Kael and Alyn did not know anybody had been in their house. Ragg told Elva that Kael killed her mother because she was a troll and that he wanted her gone too. Ragg wanted Blugort to kill Elva and bring her head to him to show Kael that he meant business but Blugort could not go through with killing Elva so he killed a troll so he could sell Elva to a ogre. Ragg changed himself in to Kael to make Alyn think it was her husband He made Alyn come to the barn with him. he wrapped her in to his arms she said this is not the time. The Blugort was hiding in the barn and Ragg put a rope around Alyn's neck and the Blugort pulled her up. Alyn choked last thing she saw was her husband cutting open her belly. Ragg killed Alyn and their unborn baby Kael buried them behind their house with their baby boy Devon and Elva's bloody nightdress covering Alyn and their unborn baby. Blugort tried to sell Elva to the ogre but he did not want her so the Blugort left poor Elva in the cave to die.Elva was a very brave girl she thought her mother and father was living the high life in the castle but that was far from the truth. Kael thought Elva was dead but she was alive she thought nobody wanted her but her uncle wanted her. Gwin lost his hand because he kissed Elva and she wanted to be with him but that horrible boy said she belonged to him not Gwin l was happy to read that she stood up for herself and she came face to face with her papa she wanted to kill him but she listen to her own telling. Elva found him sitting with his son and daughter but she could not see her mama or any other children then her papa told her Ragg had killed Alyn and their unborn baby. Kael told Elva that Ragg was a shape changer. He said he had failed Alyn and their unborn baby, Elva and his brother Fane. I was sad to read that Alyn and her unborn baby died and that Alyn thought Kael and Alyn did not want her because of  Ragg telling her that they both hated her when really they loved her like she was their daughter. I was sad to read that Elva was raped and she thought she was pregnant by that horrible boy. I feel sorry for Gwin that his mother said he was cursed because he was was born without a arm but Elva told Gwin that maybe it was his mother was cursed not him. Elva loves Gwin but Rudne treated Gwin to stay away from Elva or he would lose a foot .Gwin sounds like a great boy just a shame his mother is so nasty and  l was sad to read Gwin's father went hunting and never returned. the author kindly signed my book. it says cheers Donna pay attention to your sparks. this book is 400 pages long this book was hard to put down once l started reading it.

Review:  this book is really good and it’s a story l was hooked on after the first few lines and l loved the Abby and jack story it was a really heart-warming. I was sad to read that Abby had been raped and then sent to a convent and she nearly died giving birth to her son and I could not believe jack’s father sent jack and his mother away cause he thought she been cheating on him with his brother and jack was not his son and l could not believe that the woman helping Abby was not really a nun and she took money off jack to help unwed mothers like Abby when she was a fake nun and l was sickened to read she killed loads of mothers and babies. But she was still grieving for the loss of her little boy. Her sister use to help unwed mothers keep their baby and her sister was looking after one of the women’s babies when Micah drowned in the pond in the backyard. She never got over having her little boy taken off her by her sister her brother thinks she killed their sister because she blames her sister for the death of her little boy and l thought she was going to kill Abby and will but thankfully jack saved them.

About the author: I write paranormal and historical romance. I have two grown daughters and have been married since 1980. I'm also a reader, who writes book reviews. But if I can't say something nice... and she is really nice and l cannot wait to read more of Lilly Gayle books.

I highly recommend this book but l would tell people to have the follow on as well so you can carry on the story not just half of it.

Adam and Rebecca love each other so much.

Review: I found this book really easy to get in to and hard to put down once l started reading it l was hooked after reading the first page. I loved reading about Tom and Rebecca's love. I was sad to read about Tom's tragic death but I loved that Rebecca was carrying Tom's baby and l think Rebecca loved Adam from the very first day she seen him and Adam loved Rebecca and he just wanted her to tell him how she felt. I was sad to read about Adam losing a arm in a accident and that his cousin tried to kill Adam and Rebecca nearly drowned because of him but thankfully Adam saved her and they went on to have a baby together. They was much in love with each other. I was glad to hear Adam's arm was healing by the ointment. Adam is a great dad to Toby even though he is not his son but he does not treat him any different then his daughter he loves them the same. Rebecca will never forget Tom but she can love again. I was happy to read that Rebecca carried out Tom's dream to get his family a better house and get them out of the damp place where Tom died. Adam and Rebecca get to meet the person that made the ointment that healed his arm. I was sad to read that Rebecca had a miscarriage. Adam's cousin died he drowned and Adam got everything he owned because Adam was his only living family member and it took days to find his body. Adam and Rebecca can get on with their lives and not have to worry about his cousin. It was Adam's cousin that caused the accident that made him lose his arm. I am happy to be able to read the follow on to this book the river girl.

I highly recommend this book but l would tell people to have the narrowboat girl as well so you can read the first book in the series and then this book so you know the full story not half.

Maryann and Darius are very upset and Norman Griffin turns up and sets fire to the boat with Maryann, Sally, Rose and the twins Esther and Ada on and poor Maryann and Ada was burnt and a woman helped her with Ada's burn by putting flour on to dry it up.

Review: I found this book really easy to get in to and hard to put down once l started reading it. I was hooked after reading the first page. I was really happy to be reading the follow on to the narrowboat girl. I was happy to read that Maryann had got a happy life with her husband and their 5 children and I was sad to read that Maryann lost a little boy Harry that he died of pneumonia. I was sad to read that Maryann's best friend Nancy drowned like Ada Joel and Darius's sister but is was very upsetting for Maryann because Nancy was Maryann only friend. She always use to share all her feelings with her sister Sally but she took her own life because of the things Norman Griffin did to her. Maryann and Sally's mother Flo buried Sally under Griffin not Nelson which l thought was wrong after everything Norman did to them poor girls. I thought their mother only cared about herself not her four children. She wanted money not her children. I was sad to read that Nancy's unborn baby died after she fell in the water and drowned and Darius was very upset about the loss of his girlfriend and their unborn baby. I wish Nancy and Darius could have been married because they made a great couple and l was happy Maryann did not die and she lived after her boat was set on fire. I felt sorry for poor Ada and Maryann being burnt and l hope Norman goes to jail where he belong

In 1992 she began writing her first Birmingham novel, Birmingham rose, which made the times bestseller list when it was published in 1995. She has written six subsequent novels including, most recently, the highly successful chocolate girls.

Review: I really found this book a mystery at first because of Anna just turning up and standing so still in the marketplace and it was very nice of Eddie and his son Tony helping her through everything she went through and Eddie helping her through the birth of her daughter and Anna helps Eddie with stuff around the farm but tries to keep out of the sight of Eddie's wife because she does not like Anne and Bertha sounds like a bitch and gets jealous of Eddie trying to help people because Eddie had a kind heart and Tony has a good heart like his dad. Tony takes after his dad not his mum. Tony took food to Anna for his dad when his dad was busy. I found this book really easy to get in to and hard to put down once l got in to it. I was sad to read that Anna's grandad was murdered and she was raped and had to run away from home to be safe from it happening again and her having to marry her rapist and I like Eddie and him helping poor Anna and her daughter Maisie and l like that Tony takes after his dad not his mum. After Eddie murder Tony kept helping Anna and Maisie because he knew that what his dad would want him to do. His mum Bertha left the farm after Eddie's passing because she felt guilty about telling the people who murdered Eddie and Anna's grandad where they could find Anna and her daughter Maisie. Tony helped teach Maisie to read and write which l think was nice of him. I wish l could rate this book more then five stars because it is worth more then the five stars l rated it.

The sense of community and the incredible of women who bore more then ten children. Funny, disturbing and moving. Call the midwife brings to life a world that has now changed beyond measure. Nonnatus house was situated in the heart of the London  dock-lands. The practice covered stepney, lime house, mill wall, the isle of dogs, cubit town, poplar, bow, mile end and whitechapel. The area was densely populated and most families had lived there for generations, often not moving more than a street or two away from their birthplace. Family life was lived at close quarters and children were brought up be a widely extended family of aunts, grandparents, cousins and older siblings, all living within a few houses, or at the most, streets of each other. Children would run in and out of each other's homes all the time and when l lived and worked there, l can not remember a door being locked, except at night. Children were everywhere, and the streets were their play-grounds. In the 1950's there were no cars in the back streets, because no one had a car, so it was perfectly safe to play there. There was heavy industrial traffic on the main roads, particularly those leading to and from the dorks, but the little streets were traffic-free. The bomb sites were the adventure playgrounds. They were numerous, a terrible reminder of the war and the intense bombing of the docklands only ten years before. Great chunks had been cut out the terraces, each encompassing perhaps two or three streets. The area would be roughly boarded off, partly hiding wasteland of rubble with bits of building half standing, half fallen. Perhaps notice stating danger – keep out would be nailed up somewhere, but this was like a red rag to a bull to any lively lad over the age of about six of seven, and every bomb site had a secret entries where the boarding was carefully removed, allowing a small body to squeeze through. Officially no on was allowed in, but everyone, including the police, seemed to turn a blind eye. It was undoubtedly a rough area. Knifing was common, Street fight was common and if a young girl did become pregnant the pressure on the young man to marry her was so great that few resisted.

Review: I found this book really easy to get In to and hard to put down once l started to read it. I was hooked on this book after reading the first page l can not wait to read the other books in this series. I am glad this book was made in to a TV series and I have watched the series over and over again and l could happily read this book again and again. I loved reading this book and reading about how it was in the 1950's and how the people survived in them days and who helped women bring their babies in to the world some women bore about ten or more babies because there was no birthcontrol in them days and if you aborted a baby you could end up in prison. The midwives also helped when people was injured or they had bedsores or they had preeclampsia and eclampsia and they catch it too late and the mother and baby sadly passed away and the nuns sometimes attend births and deaths to help the midwife. I am hoping they put call the midwife on at christmas again. I am glad l got all the call the midwife books l am glad l can read all the books one after another. I love reading about olden days and how things have changed over the years. I am sad that when a baby passes away they share coffins with adults who have passed away if the families can not afford a coffin of their own. It was so hard to read that mother and their children would go in to the workhouse when their husband left them or passed away and sometimes none of the children made it out alive and the workhouse inmates was buried all together in unmarked graves.

About The Author: Worth, born Jennifer lee while her parents were on holiday in clacton-on-sea, Essex, was raised in amersham, buckinghamshire. After leaving school at the age of 14, she learned shorthand and typing and became the secretary to the head of Dr Challoner's grammar school. She then trained as a nurse at the royal Berkshire hospital, reading, and moved to London to receive training to become a midwife.
